Thumbs up Ever tried an umbrella rig for crappie?

Ever tried an umbrella rig for crappie? Well, I have and they work great. slow troll or cast in your favorite tree. They look just like a school of bait with an injured one trying to keep up that gets hammered. I have been fishing with a friend for two years on them and we have them perfect now. My home lake is Hartwell in Anderson, SC questions can be answered at crappieminibrella.com or email me at [email protected] Caught 15 in 89 degree water and the temp 96 I stayed around an hour before I couldn't take it anymore. Trolled minibrellas about 6 feet deep in 35 ft water and a couple were slabs.

    Burd,
it would be nice to have a picture of your product on your website. If it is there I didn't see it. I've got a feel for what it looks like, but a picture is worth a thousand words.

    Burd,
Are your rigs made similar to this one?

I love the look of this! I have one of the very large four way umbrelas somewhere, but I like the look of this one better. I know the perfect place for whites that this would work in So. IL. Where can I find one of those? Thanks in advance.

Probably ought to check your state fishing regulations on using unbrella rigs. Here in Kansas we are only allowed two hooks per line.

I've seen umbrella rigs used for striper. I've never seen one for crappie.

I think in some, though not all of the saltwater applications, only the rearmost one has the hook- could be ok that way with state regs?
Dang, another idea I been thinkin about that somebody else took the
initiative on... Just the other day, I was looking in my Cabela's saltwater
catalog at umbrella rigs - thinking crappie - but what they've got is a little
too big even for me, I think 4" swim baits were the smallest they showed.
Man, if I just had time to work on all my projects, I probably wouldn't have
to work anymore... How's that for ironic?

The only place to buy the crappie mini brella is here locally in south Carolina or web site crappieminibrella.com yes they are similar to the larger version but only come with one jig the rest have teasers on them as most lakes you can only fish 2 hooks
You can put as many hooks as that is legal. I have several different models, from 1/8 ounce to 3/8 ounce they have 4 arms with teasers on each end and you tie your jig off the center hard to explain i will post PICS here later from 6" casting models to 11" across.new bait and the crappie love them
