Calling all crappie friends....
Went to Stockton Saturday...lost the dang wrap around cowl off my dang motor....anyone have an extra one??? 89 mercury 35 hp...part # 3878A6
could be very costly if I can't find a used one somewhere. Motor runs fine...
just louder....anyway the wife and I got to Highpoint about 8:30...crossed
the lake and someone was on every tree!!! Went toward Aldrich and caught
5 keepers...largest 14", within 6 minutes, and by noon only had 6 keepers. I did loose a couple nice ones and had about 4-5 dinks....but they were really slow after 8:45. Only saw a few other dinks being caught. My first time in that area, so I might do better the next time...maybe this weekend.

There is a boat salvage yard in OK. Not sure of the name or where it is but I'm sure someone on here will. I lost one a few years back when a buddy flipped my boat over, those covers are expensive, hope things work out well.

Thanks for the reply. The six I kept were all females....thick and healthy. About the only area I've fished was the Ruark area. I like the lake and will try to go back.
I saw on line where the cowl was no longer available....at 199.95 yikes...
would a redneck wrap it in gray tape and paint it black...haha!!!

Smilnsam, I called a buddy he said he had a whole building full of cowls, give him until 4:00 and I will call him back. He said he was sure he had one, just had to find it! Maybe I can help you out on this one. I'll call him @4 and see what he has.
