I've wondered about these things too, can you use them with closefaced reels?
yeas its just like a salt water rig depth marker. if you cant find them bass pros also has them in serval colors.
What Billbob had was not bobber stoppers. It was a spool of elastic twine like string. Looks like something that would hold beads together.
It works good.

Why not just cut a regular rubber band and tie it on your line?
Tie it close to one end of the rubber band and cut off the excess.
With the excess you have many more bobber stops.
Talk about economical.
I've been doing this for years !

I've always used rubber bands, too. They work fine, and I just get them off the daily paper.
