Go here, follow the directions. It works. You were scammed out of $50 and all this stuff is free.

If you purchased this virus scan online you may have more problems than spyware. There is no telling where that virus scan came from and now they have your credit card information and maybe other information. You need to keep very close check on your credit card information starting immediately and think about even closing it out.

I am on this site daily from different computers and don't have the problems that you do with pop-ups. You may have some serious issues occurring. Good Luck.

Sounds like to me a spyware problem or virus. I agree, watch your credit score/report.

There are plenty of free utilities available for protection.

If you want to pm me, I will try to help you get straightened out.

(Unless others need more help & the "Powers that be of Crappie.com" don't care if I post a few suggestions & sites)

It's not from this site. You don't need to upgrade to ad free here on crappie.com.

AVG is free and it's great, also Malwarebytes is good. Try those, both free.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Reviews and free Malwarebytes Anti-Malware downloads at Download.com (http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button)

AVG Free - Download antivirus and antispyware software for Windows XP and Vista (http://free.avg.com/)

Try deleting the site from the favorites and re-adding it back. Also switch to Mozilla Firefox and you will get rid of most of your problems.

I agree with Firefox I hardly ever get any pop ups.

I went to mozilla before christmas, was sick of internet explorer, would never go back to explorer again. Love all the free add ons.

I just read in my last AARP bulletin about that very thing. You might have made matters worse rather than better. Sorry!:(

I am a Computer Network Engineer. When I am not fishing or bowling.
Three of the best tools I have seen for this problem are-

Spybot Search and Destroy.
download here The home of Spybot-S&D! (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html)

Maleware Bytes.
download here Malwarebytes.org (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php)

Combofix.
download here ComboFix | freeware (http://www.combofix.org/)

all of these tools are free.

Run the first two programs then run combofix.

As for an Antivirus program I would only recommend
Trend Micro products.

I use Spybot with no problems here.

I really like spybot; but, none of the programs catch everything. And when you remove a really bad one it pays to run combofix.

I use firefox and norton system works. I haven't had a single pop up. Firefox is a free download and Norton System Works can be had for about $10 if you look around (after rebate). I bought my last subscription for $25 but I can put it on 5 computers so I gave it to all my family.

You have to stick to what works. Buying the first program that pops up on your internet search typically ends in a headache. There are hundreds of programs out there designed to exploit your need for pop up blockers, spyware scanners, anti-virus programs etc. Good luck with future technology woes.
