Just one more word of gratitude to Ed for this site and the prize I won. I would also like to thank Humminbird for their generosity in providing the fishfinder. Of course I wouldn't be holding it in my hands if it weren't for the members who took the time to vote for my article. I think all the articles are great which is a testament to the great people we have on this board. It will be put to work as soon as I can get it mounted. Here is a picture of me holding it, can you tell that I'm happy?

Congrats. Dude, you're the spittin' image of my uncle Junior. Tromped a lot of miles pickin' morels and hauled a lot of panfish with that guy.

Go to the home page, on the menu bar across click on "articles". That will lead you to a page with a list of articles. The first on the list is "The article contest 2009". Click on it and you will see a list of all 15 stories. Mine is the second one titled "Catching the bug - a true story". The first article " The gift of giving" was my stiff competition, and a very good story. Once you find them, read them all, they are great.

Hey Gene, make sure you check out the archives on how to set up a sonar unit. Im guessing you have used one before, but either way, getting it tuned correctly can make a huge difference. Aint nothing better that "graph" fishing as i call it, actually watch a fish come up from below your bait and hit. Really helpfull for shy fish(walleyes come to mind) and when fish are picky, you can literally go through every color/bait in your box till you find what they want, and you have 100% knowledge of wether they like what they see or not.

Congrats on the win by the way.

To my pals Ken, Tom and the rest of you thanks again for the kind words and support.

Hillbilly, I,ve never used one with this many bells and whistles. I've first been reading the manual to get familiar with the button and functions. Then I will certain look at the stuff in the archives with all that knowledge from you that know.

Special thanks to Ed Moes (SLAB) for the opportunity and the wonderful site. Ed those words coming from you mean a lot.
