Default New Alabama Record, not a record

Well, it was announced a few days ago that a new Alabama State record black crappie had been caught. I even saw it on tv. As it turns out, the weight was given as 4.13 lb, which was mis-interpreted to be 4 lb. 13 oz. It was 4 & 13/100 lb. The existing record of 4lb. 4 oz. still stands. Still a very nice crappie. It was caught in a private pond near Leeds, Alabama. The man who caught it was shown with it live at the Bass Pro Shop in Leeds, I wonder if he put it in their aquarium? I will check and see it if he did.

I doubt it I called them about a large channel cat in my garden pond, about 500 gals, and they told me that I'd have to call Springfield Mo. and talk to them. Then IF they would take it I had to send it there so they could examine it before it would go in one of their aquariums. It would probably die after all that.
PS that was the Clarksville IN store I talked to.

A 4 lb crappie is definitely a nice fish!

A couple of titanium bullet weights would have put it over. Kidding, that's definitely a darn good fish!!!

I saw that fish on tv and all I could say was Oh my God! It was a beast and it would have made any mother proud.

It takes 3-4 months before any fish sees the inside of the big Aquarium at BPS. IF BPS even takes the fish, you have sign all kinds of paperwork giving BPS sole propierty of said fish, then it goes into a series of holding tanks for the next 90 days to make sure it isn't diseased or carrying anything infectious, then it goes through a final check up... if it passes it'll eventually see a big aquarium somewhere.
Sounds like an awesome catch though.
