    Default New Ram mount....kinda...small video

Well, finally got tired of breaking transducer mount and refused to drill more holes in the transom, so I added a small Ram jack (linear actuator) to lift the transducer when underway. I keep hitting crap in the river which kicks the transducer up. I have broken two transducer mounts. It was really aggravating the crap out of me.

Callshy ( Hitekstuff owner) was kind enough to modify one of his pole holder bases to make me a slide mount for the transducer.

This is only a prototype. It is clamped to the boat with a wal mart pole holder clamp which is welded to some 1 inch flat stock for the top bracket. Cheap.

    Fun project.

Ebay. I had to fix it. Bad micro switch. It has built in limit switches. The actuator is made in Canada.

Yep. Mine is a 4 in stroke. It is only 54 ip rated. I am gonna seal it and cover the top. I mounted the actuator above the waterline so it isn't in the water constantly. I had to bracket over the steering cable. I gotta put in a plastic spacer for the slide rail for a tighter fit. It works. I ( not me) will fabricate the upper mount in aluminum stock when I finish. Takes time.
