I have never used any of these and just got a few 1/32 & 1/16 to see what they can do. I just want to ask what kind of tail do you that use these have?

Hackle tail or marabou?

I have also thought about using some Mylar tubing to make it look more like a minnow; so any of you use one like that?

Any other good ideas or tips you know I would appreciate if you share that info with me.

Not really, I have some Mylar tubing I got a long time back to make some fly spoons with and have done nothing yet with them. So I was thinking about making a body with a marabou tail and the body would be Mylar and probably have some stuff covering it and seal it off. I can't hardly describe it, but I am going to try and make one soon.

I like the idea I fish and extremely clear lake so detail is really important. In the process of crappie fishing in this lake I catch a lot of big bluegill and red ear. This lake in the past years has produced a lot of 2 pound crappie and several 3 pound. Not as good as it used to be but still good if you know the lake. To make a long story short you showed a picture of a jig that looked like a bee, awesome. When we fish for bluegill and redear we use a black plastic spider with white rubber legs, would like to see something more realistic. I think it probably looks like some type of water bug. I really like your designs very realistic.

You can use any kind of plastic or material on them the ideas are endless. I know what your describing with the mylar tubing and I can picture it in my mind but I've never tried to tie one up before. I'm almost done with the powder might have to get the tying stuff out.

fish it the same as a pea head or ball head jig. Its just a little more narrow and slightly pointed. It will dig into cover more so, and tangle a bit more.
Bass Pro shops brand of "roadrunners" called stumpjumpers have minnow heads, with a blade below them.
Also i think northland sells some soft minnow baits with that style head.
They do have a bit more detail around the eyes.
