They make a tool for that. It looks like a piece of stiff wire with a handle on it. Should be able to make one. Seen a video where one guy sprays his sinker molds with Pam so the will come out easier. Maybe that would work with the wire?

the longer you let the sinker cooler the harder it is to get out....at least mine is...I pour...wait about 5 seconds...pull the wire out. Works for me.
My do it mold has a brass colored pin with a wooden handle and you just pull it out.

Your right pop, if you weight too long you can't hardly get it out.
Try putting WD40 on rag and wiping the rods before you pour. Helps them not to stick.
Had a man tell me that little secret that poured them for local bait shops.
good luck.
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!

Yeah if it's a do it mold make sure to get some replacement rods as it's tough to match up the size of the pin and having the handle really helps.
I have an old Palmer cast iron egg sinker mold and I use ten penny nails in it and the wd40 really helps getting them out.
Pull the pin or nails whatever as soon as the sprues get solid from molding. You can use a pair of gate shears to cut them.

What ever you use (wire that is the right size) Will Work ... if a Do-It get there "Pin" w/handle.
On any of them I got a trick from some ol'boys that made their egg sinkers for their bait shop .... They used Soap .. after every pour they would drag the pin thru a bar of soap ... Parafin also works great .. do the same drag it thru a bar ... By the way anything over 1 oz pours better with a "Pot & Ladele" .. smaller stuff works ok with a "under Pour" such as the Lees.
Good Luck
