That would be really easy. Make a holding cage out of delta minnow netting and toss it in. YOu could probably even just drill a bunch of holes in a plastic 55gall drum and attach it to the dock. What ever you do make sure it covered and secure.
I was wondering if anyone who lives on a lake keeps minnows alive in the lake...like under the dock....I don't mean a dozen or two ...I mean a pound or two...if you do how do you do it...what do you use to " contain " them ?

I use my front livewell...it has a timer on it and i set it to refresh them every 3 min so far this has worked but i usually only get 1 pound when i go out. Watch the water temp... they like their water cool. anything over about 70 i start seeing them trying to die off
For the love of Kids and FISHING!
I used a floating minnow bucket in my pond. The ones where most of the bucket sinks but just a little stays above the water. Tied a rope on it and toss it out. Just watch when the water gets warm they will die.

Robbor has the idea.I have made them from minnow netting with the top of the net secured to those foam sticks kids play with swimming.Add about 1lb weights around the bottom. Can use hoola hoops to keep the shape also.
I have kept up to a poundand a half in a simple 5 gallon bucket with a lid on it,just drill a bunch of 1/8 holes in the sides and bottom to allow the water to flow through it.Also you can add weights to the buckets and sink them a little deeper ifthewater gets too hot.
Wishing ya`ll hard strikes and heavy stringers and slay those slabs
The five gallon bucket with holes drilled in it works for me. You need to brush off the algea every now and then to keep the holes open.
we've got a standard bait bucket that floats in our dock well. it's shaded in the summer, and minnows will live in their year round with no maintenance. literally i've seen them live for 3 months in there (forgot they were in there).
Don't forget, minnows in a container will bring snakes . I know.
