    Default Yamaha noise??

    yamaha pro 50 hp
It has a chirp/squeak at idle and a roar at WOT.. It doesn't do it all the time just part of the time.. On the WOT noise if I ease back just a few rpm it will stop and sound quiet.. any ideas??? Boat shop said the chirp wasn't a reed..and not to worry about it..??????? The sound is in the top of the motor..

Also what will make a choke stick??? I have to flip it back with my hand sometimes..

    Try lubing the choke.

As for a chirp...its generally a intake port leak.
OR...something super tight that is allowing compressed air to escape.

A leaking powerhead gasket will make a chirping noise also...
