Name that Lake?

Several years back when I was temporarily at Scott AFB in Belleville, I
fished a few times in the tailrace of what seemed to be a big reservoir -
It was roughly 2 hours drive East of there - that is a real rough guess,
that was in '89, but I've always wondered what the name of it was.
We just happened to hit the white bass in the spillway at the right time,
and caught 'em by the bucketfull for several trips. I had been wearing
my buddies out, mainly cause the rig I was using (open face w/ double jigs)
would cast a lot farther than they could reach, and the fish seemed to be
thicker out towards the middle. I guess I was getting cocky and rubbing it
in a little, cause the last time we went, I couldn't buy a fish, and a little
old man up the rocks from me was catching them left and right. My friends
started asking me, "How does it feel? HaHaHa" I started watching, and the
trick he was using was a roostertail in-line spinner hanging about 3 feet
below a cork - he was just letting the current wash it along, and they
were clobbering it! I rigged up like him, and caught a few, but not to compare.
