Welcome to the group, my name is Mike and I admit the I have a problem. Its been one day since I last hit the water, and my sickness keeps getting worse. Were here for man, we understand. Its a sickness and its not your fault.

Yes you are definitely sick. How on earth can a man lay off fishing for 25 yrs.? To me that would be like taking a crack baby off crack cold turkey. That is inhumane. It looks like you are making a recovery. Hope that you continue to improve. Good luck and keep us posted on your success.

Yeah, I'd say you've relapsed; and in a BIG way. After 25 years off the water, you'll be lucky if you don't turn your fishing hole into a motel.

Maybe we can get the government to consider it a disease, and then we can claim ourselves as disabled, and then we could get disability benifits, and then we could get paid to fish and then......... whew. Wake up man.

jmh58, don't worry about it, you're normal, for a fisherman that is. Welcome to the group where you will recieve group theropy.

I too have this addiction. Do you think we can lobby for a government funded program to put us on the water more often?

thankfull

That sounds familiar.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. I was starting to wonder about myself and if there was something wrong with me:D

Me too, I got Crappieitis, They say it is incurable and that the only way to keep it in check is vienna sausages and hotsauce on crackers while sitting in a boat waiting on a silvery fish to eat a jig on the line you have... I need some therapy quick, I can feel another attack coming on!!! I want you to know that I am glad I have the support of all you guys while a go through this dee, dark time...

You could buy some bird dogs and some shotguns, that'll divert some of your attention, 'specially if you buy a pup and train it.

Welcome to the board. We all have the same disease of wanting to go fishin' all the time... but having a disease like this isn't bad when you consider what the one and only treatment is.......... GO FISHIN' :D:D:D

jmh58, I can give you a little insight on your condition. Your problem is that you aren't spending enough time on the water. Increase fishin time until symptoms relent or you stop breathing. One as good as the other. Tight lines.

The closer you live to a body of water, the worse it gets. I'm only two minutes from my ramp, have to look at that thing every time I go to work, church, store..... ouch!!!!

I went in for a colonoscopy (great fun), and while I was waking up from the anesthesia, while I still didn't know up from down, apparently I told the doctor "I was thinking about fishing."

Waterboy, my last house in FL was 10 minutes from the St. Johns river and 40 minutes from Mosquito Lagoon. I know what you mean about gailure to concentrate. Lake Monroe that was featured in last weeks Midwest Crappie was my home lake. Great fun!
