Well I spent about an hour or two putting my plan into action this afternoon. I made a few adjustments to the original plans like down sizing the tee portion and the piece going to the pedestal from 2" to 1.25" pipe. I also downsized the shaft on the pedestal to 1.5" which is an almost perfect fit. I sent my buddies to the lake to try them out cause I have a test in the morning. I let you know their report on how they work.

The demo behind the apartments they seemed to work like a champ, but everyone knows how the goes. I promise they ain't they purddiest things on the water, but I do think they will get the job done.

The pictures here show it on a lean-to pedestal cause that's all we had to use for the time being. The plan is to have a seat and and normal pedestal and raise the T another 5-10 inches.

All in all I have about $24 dollars in the setup including tax and I still have some left overs to make another one. If yall are interested I can email you the finished plan.

That there is a fine looking whatchamacallit, I like the idea to cut the larger pvc to hold the rods, I've never seen it done that way. And I'm a plumber. I'm getting ready to build one for my boat. I am mounting my base to the deck though

I obviously am not him, but I made the same ones, so I'll answer how I did it.

Mine aren't in a spider rig setup, just spread around the boat, but when I cut them to width (2 inches) I held a rod up beside it, and saw where it needed to be. Marked it, with the rod beside it, and went to work.
