    Default Printed in newspaper

This was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday.

The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"

I thought this was the BEST idea....

I think this guy nailed it!

    Dear Mr. President,

    Patriotic retirement:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force - Pay them $1 million apiece severance with the following stipulations:

    1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

    2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

    3) They either buy a house/pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

PS If more money is needed, have all members in Congress and their constituents pay their taxes…

You are talking about spending $40,000,000,000,000. That's 40 trillion dollars. How is the US government supposed to pay that?

    Lets see now
1 - No one trained to take their place. A lot of businesses will go under.

2 - 40 million cars. Big bubble and the price of new cars goes thru the roof.

3 - Cost of house goes thru the roof.

4 - This one got lost from the one I got a few days ago. Invest in the stock market. Financial industry fixed. Price of stock goes way up.

This creates a bubble that will burst and be worse than what we have now. But it is still fun to consider just what you would do with your million. Only spend it on things that are important, New boat, new fishing gear would be on the top of my list. Maybe a house closer to a good lake.

I bet we would be surprised how many people would run out of money before they ran out of breath!
