Go to a garage sale and buy a ironing board--good height to work at--get a 5 gal. bucket and you have a set -up thats hard to beat

i found my cleaning station at the dump.....saw a large square hardwood table and a double porcelin bathroom sink at the dump.....cut a hole to insert the sink on one side and put a 1x4 rail on the side so the critters dont slide off....put pvc pipe under the side which goes to a 5 gl bucket with a 1/4 in screen over it....works fine for me...

Sounds like that is a plan my friend. Be sure to add running water hose, lights and outlets for your filet knives. Have a good supply of freezer bags on hand for all those tasty filet's.

That's what I made, only I bolted a long piece of that white plastic like those cutting board to mine. You can adjust the height and it's easy to move and store.

Good idea on the ironing board, plus it's portable. A tip I want to share when you add the white cutting boards put a bead of silicone sealant around the edges if you want it permanent....if not the fish water gets under there, PEEYOO! then ya got to bleach the thing to get rid of the smell.

I found an ironing board today at the flea market for $3.00 and I'll tinker around with this idea. Thanks for the tip on the silicone seal. Appreciate it.

I think I'll run an outdoor cord on mine so I can tap into electricity for lighting and the filet knife.

Hey Jhef,

After reading this entire thread, this is what I came up with. I also liked the "Ironing board" idea. It is easy to adjust to your height so you are comfortable while you filet all the fish you catch. Be sure to have a garden hose nearby to use as well as an outdoor power cord to supply the electric hookup. The electric outlet is mounted on the board for stability. Attach the cutting board (After you have measured and cut out the hole i inch wider than the opening on your cutting board) by using silicone seal to prevent fish entrails from getting up under it. I also found some great videos I want to share with everyone.

REMEMBER.....to UNPLUG the electricity before hosing it down with water. Electricity + a steel ironing board + water can be FATAL!

agreed, a guide here in Kansas uses an ironing board...no bending over...an electric filet knife is also a nice addition

Rain as well as tinkering around with ideas. REMEMBER to UNPLUG the ELECTRICITY on the cleaning station when you are washing it down after cleaning your fish! Electricity and water do not mix!

Another reminder, since you are using electricity around water and maybe on the ground, it would be wise and safe to use a ground fault receptacle. I lost a close friend to a circular saw and damp ground. Be safe.
