    Default Lund Crappie Edition baitwell

I see a number of you here have Lund Crappie edition boats with the front baitwell. Curious what you think of this. I think it's a great idea, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Mine leaks down to the lower live well and I can't see how that all wouldn't. It wouldn't take much to seal the overflow tube and add a drain plug.

My hope/plan is to add this and a small aerator and make the well hold water so if I want to keep my bait in here without mixing with lake water I can do so. My thought is that I'll have to weld in a standpipe as well as a drain pipe and use a regular expansion plug for the drain. There's romm between the well and the gunnel to add a small air pump and aerate both the bait and live wells.

All the bait well and live well are hooked together to keep water flowing. I use mine in the summer when fishing minnows with jigs and I like having them handy, especially since I don't like using them. Just too much trouble. For me though once summer gets here I can't keep fish in my live well as it's too hot so I ice the back live well with minnows and my bait well and only run it at times.

My thought was to ice the little baitwell, but like I say it needs the aerator pump running as it drips down to the livewell.

I pulled the bulkhead fitting and with the addition of an oring to the standpipe and a bit of machining to the fitting itself, I have that part leak free. It's the stupid bulkhead fitting that lands half on and half off the livewell tub plastic. This makes it tough to get secured.
