BUT ... you're gonna have to cut the line, and wait until you clean the fish, to get those itty bitty jigs back :D

Seriously though ... if you're going to fish a jig, of any kind, in Fla waters ... you'd probably want one with larger hooks. A size 4 hook is about as small a hook as you'd want.
I use jigs that are mostly 1/32oz or 1/16oz ... with #4 or #2 hooks. Most of the jigs I use are weedless jigheads with my choice of plastic body added. Other jigs I use, are marabou jigs, & hair jigs ... commercial brands & custom hand tied ones.
There are many different types of jigs, if you're referring to what materials the "body" is made of .... and many different "styles" of jigs, if you're referring to the shape of the head - shape of the hook - weedless or not. And on the weedless style jigheads ... there's several different types of weedguards used.

Smart thing to do, IMHO, would be to visit the local baitshops around whatever body of water you're going to, in Fla., and see what's their most popular type/style jigs.
I'd also visit the Fla State Forum, and ask the members what kind of critter they fish with (live bait) and get jigs to match size & color (or take your own, if you have them).

I have several customers that live up North and go to Florida every spring to fish for crappie. They use a variety of jig colors, but they order a big supply even Fall getting ready. On even said one of his jigs he caught crappie on, but once back In MI. he caught some Small Mouth and even a Northern on my Grass Hopper jig.

Some over that way in MS. use stuff like this...

Colors like these are popular and most of my customers love the Silver/FL Yellow/LT. Blue jigs I tie and it is one of my favorites which I make in a lot of different materials. Not this head style as most just want the ball head, but I think that is just what you are use to.
