Default Woods Res. Monday 23rd 2009

Got to slip off for this afternoon and fish Woods Res.There was as many boats on the lake ramp today as it was saturday I think. The fishing was pretty good today though. I got to prefish my area some saturday and didn't have the luck then I wanted but felt sure was due to the day and time I was there. Today I was only there minutes when we started catching crappie. Biggest two was 2.3 and 2.1 lbs. Caught 18 crappie total with 10 good keepers. Minnows was more effective today for us, but we threw many types of jigs as well. They seemed to like the tailed jigs better than panfish asassins and tube jigs. We caught 3 stripe and several pesky brim too. A few more warm days and it will be awsome.

Good report Sounds like you have them figured out.Just looked at the extended forcast, looks like we are gonna need our sealegs rest of the week on woods. 8 to 20 mph. south and southeast winds rest of week. Hello whitecaps strap down the trolling motor.I hate the run from the river to franklin county beach in high winds.

Thanks guys. Dont forget I been on trips this year going fishing and stopping by long Johns on the way home if I was planning on eating fish. Speaking of eating fish, I am stuffed at the moment with them W.R. crappie caught yesterday.
