Talking How many of you did this?

Was just looking back at some old pictures, and remembering how
when I got married, I took the boat on our honeymoon. Left it at my
    soon-to-be in-laws house so it wouldn't get "decorated" - didn't care
about my old truck, but they wadn't gonna touch my boat...
We stayed 3 days at the rental cabins on Pickwick, at J.P. Coleman
park. I guess my wife thought were just being thrifty, but I wouldn't
have rather went anywhere else, for any price. Well, Ok maybe Marlin
fishing would have been nice. Or a fly-in to Canada... maybe we could
renew our vows or something someday at the fly-in camp! No matter how
much she fusses now about me going fishing all the time, SHE CAN'T SAY
SHE WASN'T WARNED! :D I'm going to be honest, we only went out in the
boat twice in the 3 days, but we pulled up to a laydown tree I knew
about and caught 5 good slabs, went to the store and got some oil, meal,
and taters, and fried those dudes up! I remember that better than what
we were doin the rest of the time we weren't fishing!

We did go fishing on our honeymoon... but it was in Cancun, Mexicio - the wife caught a 20 lb. bonito and I caught a 5 ft sail fish - we released him - estimated weight was about 55 lbs based on lenghth and girth - that was a thrill - my wife is a pretty good sport this past aniversary we fishe the entire week in Key West and on the return trip home she spent a day on Captiva Island searching for shells and she sent me off with a guide to fish for snook and red fish - we both were sucsessful and both enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed telling each other about our days - I think I will keep her
with my mind on crappie and crappie on my mind -
and if ya'll see Goober later tellem I said duh huh - he'll know what ya mean!!!!!!!!

Glad I'm not the only one with similar priorities! :D
I guess I'll keep mine too, even though I feel some false advertising
went on - when we were dating, she would sit for hours on end in the
boat without complaining, even if we weren't catching. Now I can't
even get her to go. When I remind her of this, she reminds me that
I USED to open doors for her and go warm up a cold truck for her too!

Mine still likes to saltwater fish but she will not go crappie fishing with me - and she don't understand why I can't use my flounder tackle to crappie fish with - and why I want to put a trolling motor on the boat to be in her way getting in and out of the boat - but it was her idea to buy the boat and she makes the payments - so I let her have her say and then I go buy new crappie rods - still trying to figure out how to get the trolling motor without her blowing a gasket

Might try one of those quick-detach rigs, you could slip it on real quick
when she wasn't looking that way :D What kind of boat do ya'll have?

the dlx design is supposed to be one of the dryest rides in the skiff line - the semi-v is supposed to handle and maneuver better but the dlx is turns pretty good for a skiff - I have been in 3 to 4 ft swells in the ICW around Morehead City / Emerald Isle area and stayed dry and it will handle rough water very well - for the money I don't think you can go wrong - I like it because of the width and space - it is nearly as big as a pontoon - I bought mine at Chatlee Marine in Sanford, NC - was about $500 to $1000 cheaper than other places I checked - in October I will have had mine for 3 years and the only problem I have had with mine is with the trailer - it is a wesco and everyone claims they are a very good trailer - I had a bearing go bad and a grease fitting break off the hub but they fixed it all under warranty - they replaced the entire axle and even put me a new tire on - Chatlee even called wesco and they got a dealer in the Emerald Isle area to fix it for me because I could not get it back to Sanford without putting in on a roll back wrecker - so customer service has been good so far
