    Default good trip

The hawgs were rollin' this weekend - like usual when I'm camping
didn't get to fish as much as I wanted, but went out Friday morning
    and caught 22 between 7 and 9 o'clock - 5 of them between 14 and
15 inches. Sat morn could only manage 10, 2 of them that big.(clarification-crappie!)
Crazy green carp were running around within a foot or two of the
surface in 30+ water - getting a sun tan I guess! Water was even
clearer than usual, took the girls out with a bucket of crickets Sat
evening and Sun morn, and you could see fish sitting on the bottom
in 8 feet. They had a blast with the little green carp though, you
could see them come cruising by and pitch a cricket out and watch
them hit it just like you were feeding them in an aquarium. Went to
the beach with them, and there were fish of every sort darting around
your legs in the water. All I could think about is where is my fishing pole... :p

Gen lake. Is that water still Crystal clear there? Used to bass fish there. And you could see a fish strike in 10 ft of water.
Need to get down there and try for crappie this winter.

Yep, clear as tap water. You could watch fish swimming around 8' or more.

I always hated fishing that lake. And let the wind get out of the west. Hold on.
Had a guy tell me one time he was going to find a windy point to fish. At that time waves were 3 ft or better..LOL
But it had lots of fish at that time.

I pretty well love the lake myself, but that's only because I usually catch
fish and I like deep, clear water. As for the wind, I like fishing in a wind too,
but it can get rough there - you can understand why I'm wanting to
get into a 21' bay boat! I've nearly lost my 1852 john more times than
I care to talk about. When you can't pick up the bow enough to clear
the rollers, it don't take long for a bilge pump to get overwhelmed.

Seatons marine at Pickwick is selling a bay boat now. I would check with him. He also has Yamaha motors.
I started to get a Alumacraft Tournament Pro 185. Its a great lakes boat. Deep and 4ft waves are nothing to it. It would have been a tiller motor boat. 100 Hp Yamaha 4-stroke hanging on the back.
But could not find one without driving 1200 miles. So went with the War-eagle 2072-SLDV it does a good job..

Notice I said "wanting" to get into a big bay boat - Lets see:
    wife's car is about dead
she's about ready to quit camping with me if I don't get a bigger camper
    and I make... hmmm.
Looks like all my problems with getting a new boat somehow end with her.
Maybe I could trade her in on a newer model - nope, I SURE don't make
enough for that! We must think a little alike though, I have looked hard
at both the Alumacraft and the War Eagle like you have. I have a strong
attachment to tiller steer boats too. Have you ever looked at the
Warrior tiller walleye boats? On the biggest, you can get a 175 EFI Merc
with a tiller. They have a proprietary power steering assist for tillers.
How does that big War Eagle ride at speed in big waves? I do really like
    the front deck in them.

    I know that feeling..LOL
The big war-eagle rides good for a aluminum boat. IT does OK but get it in big waves and its like the rest. Run right and take it easy. The 12 degree hull does help out a lot.
I almost ordered the 20 ft war-eagle with a tiller. But did not. So last year I bought a 1754 war-Eagle and have a 25 hp Yamaha 4-stroke on it. So that way i have to camp war-eagles to fish out of..

I would love to run of the big Warrior boats man that thing can take the water. And the power steering would be great.

    Pete
    PS
If you would like to find out how the War-eagle rides we will have to fish one day and you can try it out. I also like the deck in it. And with the auto pilot t/m its easy to run.
But let me warn you theres been 3 people( That were looking to buy) that rode in my boat, And they bought the same hull. LOL
