Default 2 Stroke Motor Oil: Major Brands compared to Wal-Mart SuperTech

I wanted to pose this question to guys. Last year when the oil prices went through the roof, I decided to change to a different brand of 2 stroke motor oil. I went from the Evinrude/Johnson XD30 to the Wal-Mart SuperTech. I did a little research and found that the SuperTech was made by Pennzoil. Figuring that it was a major brand of motor oil with a Wal-Mart label meeting the TCW-3 standard, good enough. I really didn't notice a difference, but went back to the XD30. I did notice my Wal-Mart is carrying a Evinrude/Johnson 2 stroke oil with a different part number than what's on the Evinrude site. I wonder if this is the same oil as the XD30 with a Wal-Mart part number? Any opinions on the SuperTech or the Wal-Mart Evinrude/Johnson oil, or oils in general?

I run super tech in my '77 Johnson 115. It is 32 years old and still going strong.

Yes I did. And, I asked the question why from a local dealer I get my oil from. They said the oil that was manufactured during the run-up in prices is still on shelf. And that oil is not moving as fast as the oil at the old prices. They said that when their inventory goes down, they will buy new oil and the price should come down. Don't know, and have to take their word on it.

I wonder how much the gas is going to go up on Memorial Day. Right now in Kansas City, it's $1.82 for 87 octane. Do you think we'll be above $2.00 this summer?
