there is a real small hole in the bottom of the lower unit on the front that is pluged with something. Mine did it twice this year. Use a real small drill bit & drill real slow it is about 3/4 in. deep. Hope this helps Jim C.

Mine stuck not long ago right after I hit a stump wile moving slow, but that tiny hole just about 5" up from the bottom of the lower unit got some wood in it and that was the trouble. Like Jim said, a tiny drill bit used my hand I was able to clean it out.

howdy; you might also check to see if there is a fuse in the system if you don't have the mechanical system, or even if you do.

There is a very small hose that runs from the Hole in the lower unit mentioned earlier that might have got pinched off. If you have an air nozzle you can have somebody watch spedometer an palce inject air at the small hole on the lowere unit.

Be careful with compressed air - only use about 10-pounds of pressure - or you could damage your speedometer.

Sometimes the tubing gets a hole in it or comes off the back of the speedometer. If that happens you'll be getting some water in the boat while you're cruising.

Just last week the tube came loose from the connection in the foot of my motor.
Had to reconnect and ad a zip tie.
