    Default Life Lessons

Went to Wappapello Saturday had a really enjoyable day even with the wind. Didn't catch alot but all where nice size slabs. Biggest was 15". That being said the day came to an abrupt end when my brother went over the side. We were reminded how unprepared we really were. The throwable was stored away under the deck, along with both lifejackets. Due to the hurricane force winds by the time he came back up the boat had moved away from him, and the fleece coat he was wearing became a sinker after taking on the water. He was able to swim his way close enough that I could grab him and pull him in (which is no the easist thing in cold water and the extra weight from the wet clothes), but if the water had been much colder or if he had been alone, I am afraid he could have turned out much worse. I will definitely be making some changes before the next trip.

    1. Throwable in easy reach
    2. Access ladder on back of boat for easier entry (I have a deep V)
    3. If ever alone in cold water will have some type of life jacket on.
    fishing and filleting; that's how I roll!:D

WOW scary. Glad it turned out OK. Thanks for the reminder - need lifejackets on because things can happen fast.

VERY glad to hear that (1) Everything turned out OK, and (2) You're putting what you learned to good use making some changes. You (and your passengers) will be better off for it!
Teach your kids to hunt and fish and you won't have to hunt for your kids !!

Man that's a bad deal. But not near as it could have been. Glad it all worked out okay.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'
