Thought I heard on the news someone in a boat on Shenango got struck by lightning over the weekend. I know there are some members from around that area, anyone know any more?

any update? Also, several people got struck in venango county(franklin)area
with lightning at a Family reunion over the weekend?
Boater/fishing persons remember storms come quickly at Shenango & use Extreme Caution!

I heard that the lightning hit a tree, bounced off of that and went through the boat and then hit another boat. Both people were o.k. as to my knowledge.

This subject came up at work the other day - lightning while fishing. Just how susceptable is a boat on a small body of water? The posts so far all seem to involve being on/near land.
Personally I've never heard of a boater being struck - but I don't get out much
