Some knots are stronger than others, but almost any knot you can tie well will be adequate for crappie.

Hey TW, We like a loop knot 90 % of the time when tying jigs on.

I use the improved clinch knot for jigs. Works for me.

Overhand loop knot. If not a palamar knot. On the palamar tighten and pull the knot backtowards the back of the jig. Makes the jig ride right in the water.

I'm with death before disco on this one, you need a strong knot for bass, redfish, and other hard hitting fish, but any old knot will do for crappie. I catch three pounders somewhat regularly around here (10 minutes from arkabutla) and have never had one break off. I use an old fashioned fishermans knot, over hand 6 twists, back through and pull.
