Question I'm trying to decide on which TV network to go w/

& to tell you the truth, they all look about the same. For cable tv, we have Time Warner Cable. For Satellite I think we have Direct TV & Dish Network. Anyone have any thoughts on the 3 -- pros & cons? I think we'll probably go w/ whatever the lowest package is that still includes some type of outdoor/fishing channel.

Time Warner Cable sucks for their choice of outdoor channels.

i used to have dish changed to direct. it is not even close to dish. i am just waiting on the right discount package deal to change back. i would be willing to pay more to have dish than direct. dish was a lot better to me.

I have Dish and am very satisfied, but not sure how the outdoor programming stacks up to the others.

Direct TV has added The Sportsmans Channel to it's lineup...Channel 605 I can now watch Midwest Crappie with Russ Bailey...

I don't think it will make much difference because at some time they will switch programs and you will lose what you had that you wanted. That has happened here several times with cable. We now have versus which used to be the outdoor channel and now have a bunch of infomercials instead of out door shows. EB

    Default Best Deal

You need to look at the packages were you get phone, dsl, and tv in one package this saved me about $75 a month on all 3 services.

I agree with FW. I had cable with phone and internet all for just under 80 bucks. To get dish or direct, you still have to pay for phone and cable (totaled 120 bucks for me), plus when it gets cloudy, can't watch tv. I ain't inside except when it is raining, so if I had dish or direct I would never get to watch tv. Another problem with them is that Iwould not get the local news and such. With cable, I had weather channel with local weather whereas on dish it is only national generalized weather. Also, I had the Outdoor channel which is not available on any other service in this area.

this is completely wrong. the technology has improved to the point where in teh 3 years we've had dish network we've lost signal during a storm like 5 times total and for no longer than 15 minutes. 3 of the times our power went out anyway. and we get tons of rain.

dish networks turbohd package has been awsome for us. its fairly inexpensive compared to direct and cable for similar offerings. its been excellent. i highly recommend them. unless you plan on getting the nfl season pass, go with dish.
