It seems that both these organizations are trying to get some laws changed. How would you like to get a bill from your vet, and find out that it is being taxed on? Especially when you take care of your pets and act responsively them, liek having them spayed or neutered. There are two forms on this site that you can fill out and be counted. It shouldn't be a few trying to make laws for the many pet owners.

PETA is completely nuts, but it seems like there are more than one "Humane Society" orgs out there. It sounds like the one you cited is the kooky one.

I think there is a more reputable (translation: not looney like PETA) Humane Society group out there.

I've never really checked out the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. I hope they're not nuts, too.
