To tell you the truth, I know a whole lot of nothing about fishing on lakes. I've fished farm ponds since I could walk, but that's about it. I'd like to go out w/ someone on a lake w/in an our or 2 of KC to learn at least something to better my chances of filling a cooler when I go out. I feel like I'm doing more "fishing" than "Catching". Any suggestions of guides that are around the area? KS or MO.Bought my MO license, haven't bought my KS license yet.

Chatt for Dure in Kansas. If you get down to Truman Richard Bowling would be your best choice.
Gary Burton @ Smithville. Google Burtons Bait & Tackle. Good for Smithville

I ran across Larry Murphy's name elsewhere on the web. Here's a link to his site.
Anybody have any experience with (or knowledge about) him?
I've been considering calling him this spring or summer.

A FISH IN THE PAN IS WORTH TWO IN THE LAKE
I would give twice that for a trip to your secret cedar at Berry Bend.

Sounds good. I am not much on cedars but Jim loves them. Is there any hedge trees close by the cedar?
