    Default Segmented Body Jig

Don't pay much attention to the tail as I didn't really care about that since it is for me, but what do you think of the body? Oh and it's a 1/32 oz. and #8 hook.

And yes strictly for myself at this point.

I love it! Looks like its ready for some slabs. That head/body combination really look deadly. Sometimes, I don't know why, but I think the more stark the contrast between the head and body, the better the jig -regardless of color.

    Thank you,

This color combo is very close to what I call my Christmas jig and have used that color combo since the 1970's with great success.

Try out some clear Cabela's -- Hollow Tubing or Hollow Larva Lace https://www.riverrunoutfitters.com/s...uctid=573&js=n with some ultra wire inside of the tubing for a "different" effect. Red and copper wire looks pretty good to me.

Tied it off just like I do any jig I tie (whip finish). If you can see my tie spot on a chenille jig then I didn't do a very good job. Even most of my thread neck jigs I shoot for not being able to see the tie off spot, but it is a bit harder on thread neck one and all has to go just right.

    Skip,
I have used the partial grub body numerous times jigging for finickey walleye. Seems to get them to hold on to bait a bit longer. Sure crappies would go for them as well.Would be interested in buying some from you when you make them available.

This is not partial grub bodies you know huh? I just need to have more of the materials I make this jig with. I am thinking right now they will have to be small jigs only as this is a dubbed body wrapped with a thin material to make it look segmented. Each segment is a separate wrap over a dubbed body. It does have a great feel to the touch.

    Skip,
Yep realize that. Wasn't to clear in my response. Great looking jig for crappies.
