    Default Salamonie report

Went out yesterday and caught 150 or so. Biggest was a little over 14" with several 10" and bigger. Best technique was vertical jigging stumps in 16 to 18 feet of water. Spent most of the day slow trolling. We caught some decent fish trolling, but the bigger ones came vertical jigging. Use minnows and red hooks for best results. Just about all of the fish were caught around 10 to 12 foot deep, with one slab being caught around 6'. Get ahold of me if you would like to go on a guided trip.

I just might be interested in your guided trip. How much are you talking?

I live in Fort Wayne, and have never fished the Salamonie before, I mainly fish the Cedarville Reservoir for crappie, but without a boat this time of year it is hard to find good catches of crappie.

What was the weight on those 14''+ crappies?
