    Default Fellows & Springfield Lakes

I just found this forum today & need some advice. I have been thinking up an inexpensive rig to try crappie fishing on Lake Springfield or Fellows Lake.
Has anyone had any experience with either of these lakes. I would enjoy fishing a few hours in the evening this spring & summer & both these lakes are within a short drive from my house.

    Thanks

First off, Welcome to the board. I can't help much with those 2 lakes but we have plenty of members here from the Springfield area. Keep checking in. I know you will get the advise you need.

Diaman....Welcome to the board. I'm sure there are others with a lot more knowledge on these lakes than me. Have fished fellows a few times, a caught a few crappie. Nothing very big but still fun. Have heard there are some big walleye in there. Lots of bass. I believe there's a 40hp limit on both lakes. Springfield lake, bass, crappie, catfish, gar. Fish stockton, table rock, truman mainly. If I can be any help, let me know. Good Fishin
I just KNOW it was a big one!!!

    Default Lake Springfield

Max 6 hp on Lake Springfield limits me to small jon boat or a 2 seat pontoon boat & trolling motor.

I've never fished Fellows lake, but wanting to fish it for muskies.
No motors over 40hp allowed, even if you don't use it.

I've heard the annual boat permit for 2009 will be $15. I don't believe marina is open until March. The following will give the phone number to call about the permit, etc.

The prospects for 2008 wasn't too great for crappie.

I've seen mixed reports about crappie fishing being good and poor.
