im new to the spider rigging also but everyone said to get atleast 12ft rods
I am outfitting a new boat with a spider rig set up for Michigan crappie, we really dont have alot of flooded brush or "brush piles". also as of apr. 1 we can use three lines per person so I am realy excited. All that being said what or how would you set it up? Rod length? reel style? TM type? the boat will be a geaux custom with a pro-drive on the back cause it will serve double dutie as my duck rig.
Any advise would be great

rod length 10 to 14 feet spread out to avoid tangles. Reel about any will do some use the inexpensive bucks reels and others use spinning reels of various brands. hope this helps some.

I've got some posts on there about this very subject, and once the water warms up and spawn passes that's the technique I use most of the time with good results. I too am pleased that MI is taking a small step towards increasing the pole limitations....they still need to just go to a daily possession limit and scrap the pole limits IMHO.
