    Default Crappie Candle

A while back there was a thread about Crappie Candle. I found a website that had them on sale at half price and bought one. I used it twice, once while ice fishing and the other at night. Its easy to use and they caught me some fish! Heres the address if you want to try them out. Believe me, they're worth every penny!

I got one a month ago and had luck with it. Great for night fishing and on overcast days. Its a size of a test tube and fits nicely in my tackle box. I highly recommend it.

FM...I snagged several times and never lost the light. The light itself is snag-less, even in brush piles. So if you rig the Crappi Candle right, you may lose your bait or hook but never the light. Thread the main line through the eye on top of tube cap and then under rubber band attached to tube. Then tie on a leader with lighter line and a swivel. This will save the light if breakoff occurs. The swivel will also prevent line twist. Simple as that. Instructions with a pic also comes with the light.

Interesting when I saw it I thought it was nothing but a gimmick.

I bought me a couple and used it out back last Friday night. There is a channel that runs between a development area to the main lake behind my house. I rigged a wacky worm under the Crappi Candle and not a minute later I hooked a catfish. I did manged to catch a few more of them and a couple bass. This week I'll drop one over a brush pile next to the dock and see if I can catch some crappie.

Glad you had luck with them. I bought a couple of'em too. Just haven't tried them yet.
