    Default Trailering pontoon?

Some of you have probably heard me already, talkin about wanting
another rig - Was pretty set on either a walleye type boat or a
center console bay boat, but lately I've been thinking about a pontoon -
maybe buy an older one and trash all the furniture - just have a center
console and a few pedestal bases. My question is, I tow a good bit,
at least 30 miles each way, sometimes 100+ each way. I know I won't
have any trouble towing as such, with the dually beast, but I'm wondering
how well those little wheels hold up under highway duty, 65+ mph?
Any advice, personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and how good do pontoons handle big water, rough waves?
I've seen some guys go out at Sardis when I was afraid to in my 1852
SeaArk, but would like some first-hand info. Thanks,

    J White,
I have a 24ft pontoon boat that i haul at the very leats 20 miles and usually 120 - 300miles to the lake each time. the small wheels i have are weighted to about 1350lbs and they hold up really well to highway use. Im not exactly the safest driver in the world, sometimes reaching 80mph goin down a hill on the interstate.... by mistake of course, and they hold up beautifully.... that is on a dual axel trailer. Get one of those if u can theyre worth every penny, because if u blow a tire on one side then theres another tire to get you off the hwy or to a gas station.
Toons' hold up good in rough water, ya just about cant sink em, I was on Santee one time in 4ft swells, and i got back home ok. theyre the most safe boat as far as im concerned.

Just dont be in a hurry to get to your fishin hole once u get on the water.... SSSSSSLLLLLLLOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW !!

I appreciate the input! I would have got back sooner, but was waiting
to see if anybody else wanted to chime in - nother question - I've
seen a few with 3 logs sporting big horsepower - Is that the way to
    go or no?

    Thumbs up my .02

I looked for about a year for a boat. I wanted a center console also and looked at several used pontoons with remodeling in mind although I had never really wanted one. Since at that time I was 10 min. from a very large lake I was wanting something that could handle rough water. I ended up buying a brand new Bay Charger 22 ft. Having seen several of this type at many boat shows over the years and thinking that was what I wanted, I decided lifes short, get what I've always wanted. I couldnt be happier. There is all kinds of room and the storage, I think, is very well laid out in the boat. Knowing the people at the boat shop that sells them I got a very good deal on it and I am very glad this is the route I decided to go. It comes with a tandem trailer that I now pull 135 miles one way and it pulls like a dream.
Thats my 2 cents!!...thanks for listening!!

    good fishing to you
