Do you have to run a power cord to the depthfinder that you hook up to the trolling motor with the US2? IF so, Is their any way to hook it up to the same wires a 24volt minn kota runs off off?

Your depth finder requires 12VDC. It will not work on 24VDC. The US2 gets it's power from the depth finder. You might get more responses from the electronics/trolling motor forum.

You need 12v for the depth finder. Also, you'll have less interference if you run the depth finder off the cranking battery.

Just what I did, got the fish finder hooked up to the cranking batter and then purchased the adapter power chord to conect it with the US2. Works like a charm.
