Default A real good "How to tie a dropper loop" video

Dropper Loop | How To Tie The Dropper Loop | Fishing Knots - Video
There's been several posts lately on how to tie multiple jigs in the main line. The dropper loop is a good one. I didn't know if this has been posted before or not, but it's one of the best demos I've seen that helps make it simple to tie.

The loop is tied with the main line. This is so you can use more than one lure/bait. You can tie as many loops as you want (check laws limiting number of hooks per pole) to fish as many baits as you want.

Here is another version of dropper knot that in my use is stronger than the original. For me it's easier to tie.

    Default Great tip!

To tacklebox2tn Wow! That improved blood knot is a lot stronger than a regular dropper loop. I did it with two twists, then the plait, and it is STRONG. And it will be great for joining two lines, much faster than tying two uni-knots. Thanks for the link!!

I pursue all three major fish species--white perch, sac-au-lait, AND crappie! :D

I compared the Improved Blood Loop Knot with the Dropper Loop on 15 & 20 lb. test, and they are similar, but it seems the Dropper Loop stands the loop out a little better 90º off the main line. It helps even more to tie a couple of half hitches equally spaced on the loop, according to how much loop you're getting. Helps stiffen it up even more on stand-off.....may just be my imagination.
