    Talking Made the Weight

I went back down to Cedar Creek Saturday and made the comeback. I fished in the Shoals Area Crappie Tournment last Saturday and lost a battery and got beat by Mr. Waters but I got to my fish Monday. I had three fish over 15inches and one that was 16 and a half not bad for a week late. I tried to let Dave take my weight but he would have know part of it. Come join us next month on Wheeler lake for our next bragging rights tournment.

You are right, you had better get to Wheeler and find some fish. Lord knows I can't find any. In 3 trips I have caught 5 fish.

Speeking of fishing Wheeler and the tournaments, are you going to be with us Jeff for the next tournament?

These are Bragging right's tournaments and no money is involved. These tournaments are very fun and you have nothing to loose. Find out for yourself if you would like to become a member and fish our paying tournaments. Everyone come out and meet the great folks we have as members of Shoals Area Crappie Association. We would love to have you.

Brad and Jeff, I am looking forward to win #2.

All of our lakes are in the Shoals Area. The tournament is going to be out of First creek on the Lauderdale side. The launch is on the right as you go into Joe Wheeler State Park off of HWY 72. That is where the weigh in is. After you register for the tournament and sign the rules sheet, you may launch from anywhere as long as you start fishing no earlier than 6:30 and stop fishing at 12:00. The weigh in is from 12:00 to 1:00. I will be launching from first creek at 6:15am. You may pre register or register that morning. Call me at 256 386 7280, or email me at [email protected]

Here is a latest newsletter I am sending out. Tells a little about our association and the next tournament.

The Shoals Area Crappie Association had 17 anglers participate in our first tournament. We hope to see at least that many at the next “Braggin Rights” tournament on Wheeler Lake August 6th. Our next meeting will be Wednesday August 3rd in the Muscle Shoals Middle School bandroom at 7:30pm. If you cannot make the meeting August 3rd but plan to fish the tournament, I need to have you register with me and sign a rules page (if you haven’t already). I will be launching at the boat launch at Wheeler state park on First Creek. It is the first boat launch on the right after you turn off 72 towards Wheeler state park. This ramp is also the weigh in site. The tournament is from 6:30-12:00, as are all the “Braggin Rights” tournaments. Weigh-in will be from 12:00 to 1:00. I will be at the boat launch at 5:30am for late registration. You may launch from any ramp you wish as long as you have registered either Wednesday, or sometime before the tournament. You may launch at anytime after safe daylight and run to your fishing area, but you cannot start fishing until 6:30. Make sure you wear your life jackets when you are running. You do not have to wear them if you are trolling with the big motor.

Thanks to everyone and hope to see you at the next meeting August 3rd!
