Go ahead & buy the boat & let her swim in the lake. That way you can fish & keep an eye on her at the same time.lol Just don't tell her I suggested this. I feel your pain, I have an 18 year old daughter leaving for college in a few weeks.
Well, I have about 15 grand to spend. I was looking forward to buying a new boat. Then my daughter was batting her eyelashes at me saying " can we have a swimming pool". Sheesh I wished she was a boy now, What kills me is that she is 15 years old and will be leaving home before long and I can't swim. Then on the other hand, maybe this will keep her closer to home the next few years for me to keep an eye on :D . I sure hate it for the boy who marries her. A pic of my pride. She's the one on the right. Darn women.

Crappie fishing is my lighthouse of sanity in an insane world,
It keeps me from crashing on the rocky shores of everyday life.
Crappie.com is my beacon of light!
Gotta buy the boat. Your you gotta stock your pool with gamefish.

Fishingpox;;;; How could you say no to a smile like that.
BUY THE BOAT ! take her fishing she'll thank you for it later i promise. If she still wants to swim let her do it while you fish from your boat.
you better keep a close eye on her - I am so glad I do not have a daughter - the teenage boys would more than likely always want to pick her up at another location - they would not take a chance on having to face me!!!!!!!!!
with my mind on crappie and crappie on my mind -
and if ya'll see Goober later tellem I said duh huh - he'll know what ya mean!!!!!!!!
buy the boat and a shotgun!!!!

I know what you mean - I almost had enough money freed up to trade
for the boat I want, but my wife has about shamed me into putting it
towards a new ride for her. I drive a '02 truck and her a '94 car - I just don't
see the problem (need a dependable tow rig to go fishing!) But she has
different priorities. And, my two girls don't want me to trade
boats either. What they are so attached to about an old ugly green
john boat I can't imagine. But they come by it honest, I'm usually the
one who doesn't want change or new things, except when it comes to
boats. But I'd probably recommend the shotgun also! Hopefully I have
a little more time before mine discover boys (4 and 8) but I'm gonna
be awfull when the time comes. I remember too well how I was when
I was younger!

New boats are great but If you buy a pool your house could be the place that her and all her friends want to hang out. Then you will have more contact with her and the people she hangs out with. Therefore developing a stronger relationship with her and knowing who she hangs with. If you get the pool, and I know this sounds crazy but I think you should, you need to make it where all her friends (girls and guys in the future) are welcome and they want to come to your house cuz its the cool place to go. I am by no means an expert but I am not too old and I know when I was in high school I had a friend that had a pool and a pool table and all that stuff. His house was the cool place to kick it. Luckily his parents were good people and they all knew us well and kept us straight. I wish my house had been the fun place and I would have spent more time there with my folks.
Like I said I ain't no expert and I ain't got no kids, but if you want a say in who she hangs out with this is a good way to do it. She's gonna date so you might as well keep 'em around your house so you don't have to worry as much.
After she goes to college rent a D4 and level the pool. Then buy a new boat.
This is advice directly from me, I didn't read this in no books. I just think its a good plan and I suggest the rest of ya'll with kids try this out.
Ya ain't holdin' your mouth right.
After she heads off to college put a layer of sand and gravel in the shallow end and a couple of condos in the deep end and stock it.
