My latest best crappie lure is the Bobby Garland 2" baby shad in cajun cricket. It's a killer!

    Default in line spinners

I ,like many, tie my own jigs - using member 1aB's excellent non-lead jigheads. However, I'm going to use many of the new patterns of "Berzerker" in-line spinners (Wyld Edge Outfitters), as their excellent formation, tiny size, and small sharp hook are ideal to carry a small rabbit strip, waxworm, or piece of pork rind. A very neat looking, functional lure with meticulous hand construction done right here in the USA !

I am also waiting to try a new lure---well, not new,but different. Berkley has been very successful with their line of powerbaits and gulp saying it outfishes live bait. Now they
have out a line of atomic powerbaits in assorted colors in crappie jigs. Here is the link.
I have ordered some, can't wait to use them

Try Bass Pro's Crappie Beaver. Seems like I've taken my biggest Crappie on them. Blk/Chart is my favorite.

We've had a ton of luck on the Crappie Beavers from BPS. But, as far as I'm concerned, you tip anything with a Crappie Niblet, and GAME ON!

But, another question in regards to new lures...if it aint broke, don't fix it. I have found my tried and true combos for different lakes and different times of the year that seem to slay them. I don't want to spend a lot of the time I don't have trying something that might work when I know what does for the particular situation.

    Just my opinion.

Never tried them but with all that use them here the Crappie Niblets. We'll see if they're worth the money

Here are a few new or newerish lures I want to try this year.

    Bobby Garland Baby Shad

    SpikeIt Tasty Tube

    SpikeIt Diamond Flash Tubby Grubs

    Cabela's -- Berkley® PowerBait® T-Tail Minnow

These in the 3 inch size - Reaction Strike Fathead Jr.

    Crazy Legs Grub - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5MtNtS6SoM

Though I'm a little reluctant to recommend these because they only come in the ridiculously expensive Alive buckets.

I'll second badbrads recommendation for the BPS crappie beaver. I've been using it for about 2-3 years, but its a unique bait fish don't see and its very effective. I have only ever used the chart. but I'd like to get some other colors. I smack em on the chart.

    ---

These for bass, walleye, striper, muskie, northern, pickeral.

    Reaction Strike Revolution Shad Swimbaits

    Tru-Tungsten Matt & Ish Tru-Life Swimbaits 4"

    Spro BBZ-1 Shad Swimbait 4"

    Sebile Magic Swimmer
