Default at least i was out

I decided to go out to a lake/pond today to try for some perch. When i got there i realized that just wasnt going to happen. approaching the spot i was intending to fish (this is in eastern washington btw, very rocky area) there was a white rim on the basalt walls about 10 feet or so high and an expanse of mud and dead freshwater clams. across the entire surface of the lake was a layer of ice. I decided to drown a worm in the canal (open moving water) that dumps into the lake but got nothing. Went up the to larger reservior that feeds it but it was all iced over also. for whatever reason the dam in the canal just wasnt spilling much water into the lower lake. I guess i will just have to return once the weather starts to heat up. On good news i was able to scout what is normally the shoreline shelf for structure, foudnt he locations of some good rock piles and boulders. i cant wait till spring comes.
