    Default Minnow size?

What size minnows do the live bait guys use this time of year? I'm thinking about using some as I'm not doing very well on just jigs alone right now.

#4???? Never heard of that term before. I use as small as I can get most all the time, with or without a jig. Only time I go to med. is for deep, open water fishing in the fall in Texas.

Speaking of minners in general, I got a question. Down here in Florida, they sell them by weight. Quarter pound, half pound and so forth. Do any other places sell them that way?? Where I was raised it was all ways by the dozen. (At least down here, I get a lot more minners for the price...since I use small ones.)

mixed small and medium, by the 1/4 #, don't seem to matter if they are feeding in the grass and pads.

I use small minnows. The best way to figure it out is to cut open the crappie's stomach when you fillet them and see what they are eating. I have found that the crappie that I catch are feeding on the exact type minnow I'm using as well as the same size.
