The Stimulus Plan At Work

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. One is from Chicago, another is from Tennessee, and the third is from Minnesota.

All three go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"

The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence."

"Done!" replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan will work.

EB, do you hate all republicans or just the ones on Crappie.Com? I have not seen one post of yours that is not combative. Man you do have passion about your politics (nothing wrong with that). As for bi-partisan goverment, even the mad as heck liberals have to bend some for it to work. This is not about which party you belong to, it's about the American People! Just remember we are not bad people. We love God, Country and Crappie Fishing.........:D

Let's see, how did the election go, maybe 46 or 47% went for McCain an the rest went for Obama. Now 3 republicans reached cross the aisle for a non-partisan vote. How many democrat senators reached across the aisle and voted against the package? I think it was a big fat zero, so's who's party is non-partisan? Did you read some of the crap that was in the stimulus bill? Probably not as it was released at the last minute and even those voting on it didnt have the chance. It was a hurry up vote as Pelosi was going to Europe last night. So much for Obama's message about hope over fear. All he's been saying is the US is going to collaspe if the bill wasn't passed ASAP! Well now you got it, have fun paying for it! I'm about officially retired so ya ain't gonna get much tax money outta me. I'm puckering my lips and getting ready to latch onto the govt. teat! Work some OT for me please so ya put a little extra in the SS fund.

Klight if you notice these libs aren't inclined to answer any questions. They are kind of just like our "Drive By Journalism" that is so prevelantly practiced today. A very approp term coined by Rush. They just lob stuff out and continue on there merry way.

I know their positions on issues and would really like to know their thought processes, values and rational for holding their positions. I think the reasons for a view or position is more interesting than the actual position.
