which part of the river does I - 65 crossover. I cross over the river every now and then traveling from birmingham, al going north. I would love to fish those big waters I see when i cross it. Where is a good place to launch? or a good marina\ baitshop?

Rev, I know that I-65 crosses over the Tennessee River in Decatur, Alabama. This is part of the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. I'm not sure if it crosses over in another area also. Me and a friend launched a boat there about two years ago, I dont remember the exact location, but I think there are several areas to launch there. We caught some good crappie during the winter months next to the big bridge pilings. They were holding behind them in the water break. We caught them on 1/16 oz tube jigs. Good Luck

If you go, lock thru Wheeler and fish the area behind the dam (to the right). Bronze Back and Sauger country for sure during their respective seasons.
