    Default Help with jig eyes

Some of the lead head jigs i have purchased have paint in the eyes. I purchased a jig eye cleaning tool but it is pretty much useless. What do you guys use to clean out the paint??

I just got some jigs from TeeZur jigs, and don't have to clean any of them. They are some really nice jig heads.

I grabbed up a drywall screw one time and while using a twisting motion it grabbed and pulled the paint right out of the eyes. I keep one in the boat now just for that reason.

save yourself some time and frustration by just spending a little more on better quality jig head that has no paint on the eye.

I use a pocket knife and a dull, old bass jig hook for the center punch. I sure would like to have a better/faster way.

I use my bodkin which is a very large needle like thing with a handle and I heat it in a flame and stick it trough and it will melt the paint. I never let a jig go to a customer with a closed eye. This is what I do after it is over cured too and not before as it will just bust off then.

I took a coat hanger and ground the end with my bench grinder until really sharp. I then heat the end up in a candle and shove it through the eye of the jig.

Are you talking about one of these? Jig Eye Buster
I use this on powder painted head and all, and don't have a problem if you rotate the head back and forth while holding holding pressure on the tip over the eye.
