My recommendation is BnM for rods and Pflueger for your reels. I am very happy with this combination. Pflueger makes several models, but I really like the Trion. The price is right and the reels are very smooth.
I havent fished much since I was a kid. Just havent had time with working all the time. I am going to start trying to get back into crappie fishing. My work scchedule will allow me some time to fish in jan.feb, and early march.
My question here is I am looking for reccomendation on rods and reels for crappie fishing. I currently on a couple of fiberglass jig poles and thats about it.
Any input will be appreciated.

I'd go BnM rods I'm using the SHSS 10" and the Brush cutter's in 12 foot you can't beat them They stand by their product reels it's a mix for Me the rod's are really the main part of the work.

What do you plan to do? Troll? Cast jigs? Vertical jig in cover?
I'm a caster. There are lots of light and UL rods on the market that will do that well, from Bass Pro's Microlites up to the very nice Loomis and St. Croix rods.
For reels, I like Shimano or Daiwa.
I use a light/UL rod and reel with 4# line and a jig. Cast out and count (1001, 1002, etc.) as the jig sinks. Bring it back with a slow, steady retrieve. Change depths till you find fish. This method will catch all kinds of fish, not just crappie.
Yeah, you just have to rig it "slip" style. Search the archives for "slip float/cork/bobber". You'll find lots of info on how to rig it.
If I'm using a float, I like wagglers. I prefer the cast and count down method for jig fishing, though.
Up to about 20', I stick with 1/32 oz. I like the slow fall of a light jig. I will occasionally use a 1/16 oz.
If you have a BPS nearby check out their ultralights (microlight) series. i have one rigged with a pflueger underspin. its my favorite setup.
There's nothing like feeling that THUMP...FISH ON
Give the Pro Angler Rods a try, they are great and very reasonable. Also try the Ozark Rod's and All Star's. You will not be disappointed in any of them.
