Default My Plans Have Been Changed

Just watched the news, gasoline prices are going up again.I was able to easly plan on 3 days fishing each week, since I only live 17 miles from two big lakes and one fine river. Now looks like its going to be cut back. And then some administration turkey says 80 dollar a barrel oil is still reasonabe.I dont have it that bad, but there are some folks who will need to give up a lot more than two days fishing a month, and its NOT going to get better.

kygorski;; you'll just have to find a fishin buddy or two that away you split it two or three ways, But i know what you mean its cost me $ 60.00 a trip 160 mile round trip
Bait; $ 8.00 boat fuel; $15.00 Truck fuel; $ 37.00 So i try to split it with my dad of brotherinlaw.

    Default high gas

I agree, it is bad. But have you guys noticed how much this has
slowed down the jet skis, ski boats, and bass racers? I would guess a
50-80 percent reduction on my home lake, and the ones who do come
sit still a lot more instead of going roundy round :D I can't even recall
the last time a bass boat came by on one side running 70+ with helmet-
wearing occupants, made 5 cast, then blew back out on the other side
like they were going to a fire... that used to happen routinely when gas
was cheaper. And jet boats with open headers - if I want to hear that,
I'll go to the drag strip. Only seen one this whole year. When life gives
    you lemons,

You would think thatwas the case, but alas that is not the case at all. On Sunday late late afternoon I headed down to Dale Hollow to do a little walleye trolling and maybe spook up a cra[ppiem or two. WRONG!!! The water skiers were out in mass, along with their cohorts the jet ski freaks,it lasted till sundown. No m,atter where I went, 3 to 4 ft waves werwe the norm.I usually fish weekdays, but needed to try it, BIG mistake. If gasoline were 5 buicks a gallon, the pleassure boaters would gladly buy it, just to make my life miserable!!!

Sorry to hear that, maybe the pleasure boaters are wealthier up where
you are. Seen a lot of big 20' bass boats for sale around here. One
guy I used to work with still has an Allison with a Mod Merc on it,
says he can run a whole tank through it on a short tournament -
    an I think he's running 32-1 with some expensive 2 stroke oil,too.
Not on my budget! I have noticed it doesn't seem to affect
the cabin cruisers or Miami Vice type boats though, even around here.
I guess if you got enough money for one of those things, gas prices
    are not an issue!
