Default Lake Quachita, Blakley Dam Pics

We took a break from crappie fishing this morning and gave the trout a try at Blakley Dam, below Lake Quachita. The lake below the dam, Lake Hamilton, is still 9 feet below normal so the river is very low. My son Jeff and I managed 2 limits but they were small.
Met some really nice folks from nearby Jesseville and they caught a good mess on 1/8 oz. Roostertails.

My son Jeff with a couple decent ones.

Me trying to adapt some of my crappie fishing techniques to trout fishing!

I take a break every now and then to go on the white river and drift. It seems like the trout always cooperate. Now if I could ever find a way to cook them so I can stand to eat them.

I have never actually eaten any trout but hear they run a close race with butter soaked cottonballs....

I am afraid we might be hijacking the Bandit's thread here...but, the best way I have ever found to eat them is to let the guides cook them for a shore lunch. It is either that or you got to have a hang over;... not sure which.
I haven't been on a guided trip since I quit drinking.

Hey it looks like ya'll had fun slabbandit. I have fished the river below Blakley with a few of the Arkansas boys pulling shad raps against the current and loaded the boat with trout and a few walleye. My wife went with us one day and she told me that she kinda liked trolling, it was the first time she had done that type of fishing.
