All the "Hi-Vis" spectra lines I have tried (and I have tried a bunch, we did a lot of offshore fishing) did not stay "Hi-Vis" for long. They just do not hold their finish well at all.

thanks tom. i dont want to waste my money buying some if it is going to fade out quickly.
All of the high-vis superlines I have used have faded with time. Power Pro actually tells you in their instructions that their line is going to fade in time and that the color can be restored using a permanent marker. I have re-colored some of my line and it works pretty well. Even with the color fade the strength and sensitivity are not sacrificed. I use 8 lb. Hi-Vis Power-Pro exclusively and would not trade it for any line made.
I just wonder if the solvent vapors from the permanent markers may keep the fish away?

but, it's still hi-vis enough to see a strike, better than I can with any clear/blu or lo-vis line :D
You CAN unspool it and reverse it, putting the unfaded portion to use, since it is still just as strong ... faded or not.
I use my PowerPro 10/2 hi-vis yellow braid, for casting purposes ... exclusively. I don't vertical jig enough to comment on its use, for that method ... but, I have heard that it can be a little iffy for that purpose. Being as light and limp as it is ... it can cause control problems, when using light weight baits & jigging (tip wrapping), especially in windy conditions. But, for the purpose I use it (casting RR's, and the occasional jig or Whirly Bee) ... I have had mostly positive results. When using PowerPro braid ... my hooksets are done at about 1/3 normal speed/power (vs my mono rigged outfits) and I still get a solid hookup 99% of the time.
