Post MAD 4 Morehead City Event Announcement

    Hello Friends,

On May 30, 2009, Military Appreciation Day, Inc. will host MAD 4 in Morehead City. The venue will be similar to MAD 3 Morehead City as we will make use of the City Park and the Jaycee Park.

We hope to host 750 Heros and their families for a day of fishing and many other land-based activities for all to enjoy.

Military Appreciation Day, Inc. would like to Thank this forum and its members for the ongoing support!

Volunteer Registration is now open for MAD 4 to be held May 30th!

Military Appreciation Day is a very special event on many levels. Many of these service men and women along with their families have never had the opportunity to be on a boat like this and will be happy just to go out for a fun day on the water with you. (Catching fish really helps though!)

Hey....they need a day off to to relax too, and you can help them do that in a very memorable way!

Below is the link that goes to the volunteer boat registration page:

Military Appreciation Day • Boat Volunteer

If you can't bring a boat, I urge you to help out any way you can by joining a committee, volunteering to help at the event, or just drop by the site and say hello on the forums every once in a while.

We are looking for a few good men and women, so who among you will take the challenge? Our Military certainly steps up for you each and every day without fail, who can we count on to help us do the same?

All the details on the Captain's meeting the night before and details on how the launch/load process will go are forthcoming. There is a big cookout planned after the boating is done, lots of good food music, and good people, and lot's of giveaways and prizes for our volunteers and our military guests.

At the very least please do this when you have the opportunity:
Stop and shake the hand of someone you see in uniform and thank them for their service to our Country, without them you would not even have that simple freedom to use!

Don't forget about the raffle, you could win some awesome prizes and help MAD all at the same time. Full day charter with Stand -n- Down and passes aboard the Continental Shelf to name a few...

    C'mon boaters.....Let's Roll!

Just wanted to ask everyone to think about helping out with this wonderful event. No matter what you think is insignificant, it is not. ANY help is sincerely appreciated. Not only do we need volunteers to help in all areas of the event, we have two areas we really need help in:

    1. Volunteer Boat Captains - Please consider bringing your boat and taking some of Americas everyday heroes out for a day of fishing. You will have a sense of American pride like none other when you start your journey that morning!

    2. Donations - The truth is, this is a tough year and donations are down for MAD. We have many things in motion right now to help with that effort, and an awesome raffle going on with fishing trips, gear, golfing, portraits, lots of great stuff! We also need help with other donations of food, materials, etc. Talk to anyone you know who you think could help. All it takes is a little time and a few words, the worse they can say is no and you're no worse for the wear. I asked a simple question for last year's MAD and got two stunt planes to do a cool flyover! Just talk to people, that's all it takes.

Please see the MilitaryAppreciationDay.org website for more information.

Remember, these heroes and families we will honor May 30th 2009 have already written a blank check to America's freedoms payable upon demand to include the ultimate amount, life.

Can't we find time and give a little bit back?

Feel free to ask me or anyone involved with MAD if you have questions, we will happily work with you to find the answer.

Folks we are at capacity for the Heros fishing spots and I have 32 additional Heros from Fort Bragg that want to fish the event.

We need more volunteer boaters and or donations to hire some boats.
